This UNITED SHIELD INTERNATIONAL (USI) body armor vest consists of two principle components--the BALLISTIC PANELS, which consists of ballistic resistant materials enclosed within a non-removable cover, and the CARRIER, a removable fabric garment (the CARRIER merely carries or holds the BALLISTIC PANELS and provides no ballistic protection). NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF JUSTICE BODY ARMOR CLASSIFICATION This vest model was designed to stop the specific threats which are used in the test protocol for a National Institute of Justice (NIJ) body armor classification standard. This vest model has complied with the requirements of the applicable NIJ body armor classification standard for a new vest. The NIJ classification standard which is applicable to your vest is listed on a label located on the front of the BALLISTIC PANELS. Please note that protection is limited to those bullets and impacts as described in the NIJ Standard-0101.06. LIMITED WARRANTY Subject to the LIMITATIONS described below, this vest is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the applicable warranty period. The warranty period for the CARRIER is 12 months from the date of purchase. The warranty period for the BALLISTIC PANELS is 5 years from the date of purchase. This warranty is subject to the laws of the State of Michigan. LIMITATIONS By ordering and accepting a USI body armor vest and related equipment, the Purchaser acknowledges and agrees that the selection of the specific vest or product configuration (shape and size) and the determination of appropriate and adequate ballistic threat level capabilities (degrees of ballistic protection of the specific model) were made solely by the Purchaser and NOT by USI. The Purchaser further acknowledges that its decisions concerning vest configuration and threat level capabilities were made with reference to anticipated threats and perils, the nature and extent of which were known only to the Purchaser and not to USI. Our warranties extend to the original user-purchaser only and do not include any claim or warranty made by a dealer or anyone else beyond the provisions of this warranty. This warranty is voided if the maintenance or care as stated on the BALLISTIC PANELS label and enclosed instructions have not been followed or if the product has been altered in any manner by anyone other than USI. Since a coordinated BALLISTIC PANELS and CARRIER are essential for proper protection, use of a CARRIER not produced or approved by USI nullifies the warranty. This body armor cannot protect areas of your body which it does not cover. DISCLAIMERS THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS GIVEN IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WHICH ARE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED. THE PURCHASER AGREES THAT ITS SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AGAINST USI WILL BE LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE PARTS, PROVIDED THAT THE PURCHASER COMPLIES WITH ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND DIRECTIONS REGARDING THE VEST OR ITS COMPONENTS. NO PARTIAL OR FULL REFUND TO THE PURCHASE PRICE WILL BE PROVIDED. THIS EXCLUSIVE REMEDY WILL NOT BE DEEMED TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE SO LONG AS USI IS WILLING TO REPAIR OR REPLACE A DEFECTIVE PART IN ANY MANNER WHICH ALLOWS THE PRODUCT TO BE WORN AND MEET THE PERFORMANCE CRITERIA FOR THE BALANCE OF WARRANTY PERIOD. USI WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO PURCHASER AND DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY ANY APPLICABLE STATE LAW FOR A BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WARNINGS BALLISTIC PANELS insertion--always insert the BALLISTIC PANELS as described in enclosed materials. There is a specific STRIKE FACE which is the side of the BALLISTIC PANELS which should be a way from your body and facing outwards toward any possible threat. CARE--proper care of the BALLISTIC PANELS and CARRIER are crucial to maximizing the comfort and performance of your vest. Always follow the instructions for care and maintenance which are enclosed.
